Our daycare is thoughtfully designed to support your dog’s physical, emotional, and social well-being. Through supervised play, structured rest, and engaging enrichment activities, your dog enjoys a balanced day that keeps them happy, healthy, and relaxed.

OUR DAYCARE PHILOSOPHY

Socialization is essential for a dog’s happiness and overall health. At Hand & Paw, dogs enjoy supervised group play guided by trained daycare attendants skilled in canine communication and body language.

We maintain a high staff-to-dog ratio to ensure safety, individualized attention, and proper supervision at all times. Dogs are grouped based on size, temperament, and play style to promote positive interactions.

PRESCREENING & MEET & GREET

To ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all dogs, we conduct a supervised trial day for every new daycare guest. This allows us to:

Observe behavior and temperament

Determine appropriate playgroups

Ensure your dog is a good fit for daycare

After the assessment, pet parents are welcome to tour the facility and learn more about our playgroups and rest schedules.

DOG DAYCARE GUIDELINES

STAFF & SUPERVISION

Fully trained daycare attendants

1:9 staff-to-dog ratio

Maximum 15 dogs per day

HEALTH & VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS

All dogs must have:

Rabies (1 or 3 year)

Distemper / DHPP (1 or 3 year)

Bordetella

Valid municipal dog license

Regular flea & tick prevention

Puppies

Minimum 12 weeks old

Fully vaccinated (Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella)

Dogs 7 months+ must be spayed/neutered

Health records must be provided directly from your veterinarian.

HEALTH & SAFETY PROTOCOLS

We prioritize cleanliness and safety:

Nightly deep disinfection using industrial fogging systems

Veterinary-grade disinfectants effective against bacteria, viruses, mold, and odors

Proven effectiveness against Parvo, MRSA, H1N1, H3N2, and coronaviruses

PLAYGROUP STRUCTURE

Dogs separated by size, temperament & play style

Multiple large play pens

Rotational schedule with crate rest to prevent exhaustion

ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES

Our enrichment program stimulates both body and mind, including:

Obstacle courses & tunnels

Scent trails & treasure hunts

Bubble play & water games

Frisbee & ball play

Arts, crafts & painting

Calm sensory activities

Quiet Time:
Daily from 07:00-0900, 14:00 – 16:30 PM, with meditative music and rest after active play.

FEEDING POLICY

Feeding time: 06:00 and 17:00PM

Dogs are fed individually and supervised

Owners must provide food

No treats are given due to allergy considerations

COMMUNICATION & UPDATES

Daily verbal update on your dog’s behavior and experience

Honest feedback on emotional, behavioral, or health concerns

Immediate contact if any issues arise

BEHAVIOR POLICY

For safety reasons:

Dogs showing aggression or toy possessiveness are not permitted

Not all dogs are suited for daycare, and safety always comes first
